The call comes when nobody is at a desk
Most businesses can plan around their busiest hours. A bail bond agency cannot. Arrests happen in the evening, overnight and on weekends, and the person calling is usually a worried relative who has never done this before. They are not browsing. They are working down a list of numbers from a search result until someone answers.
That makes the first thirty seconds of the call matter more than almost anything on your website. If a person or a system picks up, the caller stays on the line. If the call rings out, they dial the next agency.
An AI chatbot on your website and an AI receptionist on your phone line do not replace your agents. They cover the gap between "the phone rang" and "an agent called back."
What the chatbot can handle on your website
Anchor Co AI trains a chatbot on your own website. It answers from what you have published, so it only says what you have already said. For a bail bond agency, that usually means:
- Where you work. Which counties and jails you cover, if you list them on your site.
- How the process works. A plain-language explanation of what a bail bond is and what happens after a call, using your own wording.
- What you need from the caller. The defendant's full name, the jail, and the caller's name and number, so your agent can start the right way.
- How to reach an agent. A clear callback request, even at 2am when the office is closed.
When a question goes beyond what your site says, the chat says so and takes a message instead of guessing.
What the AI receptionist does on the phone
The Front Office plan adds an AI phone receptionist. When your on-call agent is already on another line, or when a call comes in overnight, the receptionist answers, tells the caller an agent will call back, and collects the caller's name and number, the defendant's name and the jail. A summary is emailed to you.
It does not set a bond amount, quote a premium or promise a release time. Bond amounts are set by the court and premium rules are set by your state, so those conversations stay with your licensed agents.
Objections we hear
"Callers want a human." They do, and they get one. The receptionist's job is to answer quickly and get the facts to your agent so the callback is faster and better informed. It says it is an AI.
"This is a regulated business." It is, and the chatbot is not a substitute for a licensed agent. It shares general information from your site and hands everything specific to your team. Check your state's rules on advertising and on what may be said to prospective clients, and decide what you publish on your site accordingly. The chatbot can only repeat what you have published.
"We already have an answering service." Many agencies do. The difference is price and where the information goes: an AI receptionist is month to month, with no per-minute overage fees, and the details arrive as an email you can act on.
What a good first reply looks like
The first thirty seconds set the tone. A caller who reaches the AI hears that it is an AI, that an agent will call back, and what information would help: the caller's name and number, the defendant's full name and the jail. That is all it asks for, and it does not discuss charges, bond amounts or release times.
On your side, the email that arrives is short and complete. Your on-call agent can read it on a phone, call back and begin the conversation with the facts in hand, instead of opening with "who is this about and where are they?" That small difference is what the setup is for. It makes the callback faster and the first real conversation better informed, and it keeps a voicemail box from being the first thing a worried family meets.
If your site lists the counties and facilities you serve, the chat can also tell a visitor quickly whether you write bonds where their person is held. If your site does not say, the chat says it is unsure and takes a message.
What it costs
Anchor Co AI is free to start (1 bot, 20 messages a month). Paid chatbot plans start at $29 a month. The Front Office bundle, which adds a website and the AI phone receptionist, is $249 a month plus a one-time $297 setup, month to month, with 300 answered phone minutes included. There is no contract.
Setting it up
You give us your website. The chatbot reads it, and we set it up to collect the details you need. Within 5 business days of your completed intake form you have a preview to test.
If your site does not yet say which counties and jails you serve, add that first. It is the single most useful thing the chatbot can repeat to a caller.
