The shortlist forms before anyone walks in

A bride's search for a dress usually starts on her phone, late in the evening, with a handful of shops open in tabs. She is not ready to buy. She is deciding where to book a first try-on, and she is looking for a shop that seems easy to deal with.

She has questions. How far ahead do I need to book? Do you carry my size? Is there an appointment fee? How many guests can come? How long does ordering take? If your website answers those clearly, great. If she has to call during your hours and reach voicemail, she may book the shop that replied instead.

An AI chatbot on your website and an AI receptionist on your phone line do not replace your stylists. They cover the gap between "a bride reached out" and "someone from the shop replied."

What the chatbot can handle on your website

Anchor Co AI trains a chatbot on your own website. It answers from what you have published, so it only says what you have already said. For a bridal shop that usually means:

  • What you carry. Designers, style ranges and size ranges, if your site lists them.
  • How appointments work. How far ahead to book, how long a try-on takes and how many guests are welcome.
  • Ordering and alterations. The general process and typical lead times as you describe them, and what alteration services you offer.
  • Where you are. Location, parking and hours.

When a question goes beyond what your site says, the chat says so and takes a message instead of guessing.

What the AI receptionist does on the phone

The Front Office plan adds an AI phone receptionist. When your stylists are with a bride, or a call comes in after hours, the receptionist answers, says it is an AI, tells the caller that someone from the shop will follow up, and collects the caller's name, number and wedding date. A summary is emailed to you.

It does not check your appointment calendar, hold a time slot or quote prices. Your team confirms the appointment.

Objections we hear

"Brides want the personal touch." The personal touch happens in the showroom, and nothing here replaces it. The receptionist's job is to answer promptly, be clear that it is an AI, and get the bride's details to your team so the callback is quick.

"Every bride's situation is different." That is why the chatbot sticks to what you have published and hands everything specific to a person. If it cannot find an answer on your site, it says it is unsure and takes a message.

"We are already booked months out." Even a full calendar needs a good first reply. A bride who learns quickly that you book out several months, and can leave her name and wedding date for your team to follow up, is still a bride who knows you responded.

What a good first reply looks like

A caller who reaches the AI hears that it is an AI, that someone from the shop will call back, and what would help: her name, number and wedding date. That is all it asks for. It does not make promises about availability, pricing or delivery dates.

On your side, the email that arrives is short and complete. A stylist or manager can read it between appointments, call back and book the try-on with the basics already captured. That small difference is what the setup is for. It keeps a voicemail box from being the first impression, and it spares your team the repeated "when is the wedding and what are you looking for" at the start of every call.

If your site lists your appointment process and lead times, the chat can repeat them accurately. If your site does not say, the chat says it is unsure and takes a message.

Getting your website ready

The chatbot is only as useful as the pages behind it. Before you set it up, check that your site states:

  • The designers and size ranges you carry
  • How to book a try-on and how far ahead brides should book
  • Typical ordering and alteration timelines, in your own words
  • Your hours, location and any appointment fee

If any of those are missing, add them first. They are the questions brides ask most.
